Maybe it's possible to write a converter for .rgd to .xml, and then use XSLT to present it on the web.
Then all you have to do to update is to run the converter.
I know nothing about .rgd-files though.. :)

Cope's already released a decent .rgd-.txt converter, I don't think it's too much of a step to .xml

In fact I'd imagine it keeps the formatting .rgd uses far better than .txt

copes rgd converter converts rgds to xml if you add "-x" at the end :-P
it's in the readme too...

also: i am working on a statgrabber that is almost done, haven't gotten much work on it done today though ;-)

i already asked noun about it and he said that posting stats is breaking NDA (while the program itself does not break NDA)

@cr4wler
What kind of stats grabber are you working on? The same thing? where it parses the relevant elements of the xml file for the viewing of the essential stats?

And yes I knew about the feature in Cope's tool

very much so...

what i do not grab yet is actions (=modifiers), intel bulletins and commander info (from the stuff that i deemed important).

i planned on generating SQL statements as output. maybe even include a SQLite db with my program. we'll see. depending on how much i'm going to play today instead of coding, i might be able to hand out a preliminary version of my program within the next few days.

Hope you guys haven't missed me! :D

I have just finished my first version of CoH2 Stats. You can view it here:

http://coh-moderncombat.com/CoH2Stats/

Here you will find most of the stats about CoH2 you will ever need. I am working on this in the great effort of Tony and Frode that created and maintained the first CoH-Stats.net. I will try to keep many things in the same style for easy comparisons between the two games and also just for easy comparison's between the units in CoH2.

Notice it is a massive effort to create a site that will load all the data from the CoH2 files dynamically so that each new version/patch can easily be applied to the site and update all the stats, so you will have to bear with me as I work though this. You will notice that the bare essentials are displayed thus far.

Completed:
- Unit ebps/sbps details (unit icons are not loading because of current NDA)
- Unit weapons
- Unit abilities
- Unit upgrades
- Weapon details + cover tables

WIP:
- Unit Veternancy
- Ability details
- Upgrade details
- Massive table lists with info on specific unit types all at once

I will start work on a Game Basics page as well once the official release, as I am sure some game mechanics will change before the end of the beta.

If there is something specific you would like to see let me known. Also if there is anything wrong with the site, either a bug, or a mistake on an entry please let me know.

Great work!

The values change linearly over range from F to N?

great work darkblade, but did you check this with someone over at relic/sega? because when i asked noun, he said that the unit values are also subject to the NDA...

update on my program: i basically have it in a state so you could have a look at the most important unit stats in a "convenient" way (it's exporting unit stats in sql). but actually, since i was underwhelmed with the coh2 UI and couldnt be bothered playing it and generally lost interest in it a bit, i stopped working on my program for the moment.

i am currently thinking about using my program for a small "battle calculator" though, in case relic would be kind enough to release the exact calculations necessary for doing so.

@kastenbrot: yeah, some relic dev posted how exactly it's calculated, but basically the values change linearly

Should have noted it, but F = Far; N = Near

@cr4wler

From Noun:
Let me get back to you. I'll have to check on this one.

In the mean time, I have posted to him a couple more time, and no response. I have taken off all the icons so technically according to the NDA I am not breaking anything.

Really great to have this. Stats and facts on COH2 like this are lacking atm so this comes at the right time.

Some problem: Patch 3.0.0.8752 completely changed all tank HP values maybe you can correct that.
Soviet tanks profited greatly from that btw. but also the Elefant who got only the HP of a PzIV before and now has doubled. Tiger is no longer the only awesome Heavy in the ring although it is still the best.

Btw. how can I post an html table here?
