is-2 also was a tank that if realism be taken into account loses head on vs the panther because its gun can't penetrate panther's frontal armor while panther can.And it lacks speed to flank panther.So short of an ambush it usually lost to panther..but thats not how its portrayed ingame is it?

IS-2s could punch throught the glacis of the panther no problem. However, it depends on what the IS-2 uses.

With AP uncapped rounds can't punch throught the frontal glacis of the panther at all.
Now lets take a look APBC rounds.

Punches throught a panther no problems at all.

P.S Please don't tell me that calculator thing is bullshit because it says that the t-34/85 can punch through the frontal turret of the panther at 1000m, while cannot defeat the hull at all.

This explains everything - Rounded mantlets - Currently the calculator does not take the effect of a rounded manlet into consideration as hits may occur at very favorable angles (0) or very unfavourable angles (60+), it is planned to allow users to input a favorable or unfavourable hits at some point

Yea... except you are wrong and it could reliably penetrate panther front armor depending on amunition used.

Panthers 110mm against its BR-471B munitions guaranteed a penetrating hit at 60 degree sloped armor up to 1500meters, which is the range where panther had problems penetrating IS-2 frontal armor.

So you might want to rethink who needed to ambush who.

I'd say the in game relations between panthers and IS-2 tanks are rather accurate.

Panther 75mmL70 with pzgr 40 shell kill 149 mm at 1000m at 30 degree,IS 2 122mmL43 kill 150mm in the same condition.Panther fire over 10 shot per minute not 2-3 as IS 2 do.Panther gun has Much better precision,superior even to 88L56{who kill only 138 mm at 1000m at 30 degree} and 88L71 ,optical instrument ar superior to IS 2,speed is far superior.Panther frontal armour is 80mm at 55 degree wich is equal with 140mm vertical,turret armour is 110mm,IS 2 frontal hull is 130mm at 30 degree wich is equal with 140mm,turret is 130mm

Please, no nitty-gritty realism talk in a game where snipers can turn around, crouch and score a headshot in the space of 2 seconds while tanks have a maximum range of 50 meters.
