Some think it is related to "Project Blackstone".

Originally, this was thought to be releated to the Heart of the Swarm release March 12th. However, Project Blackstone is still active. This includes new content and new twitter feed activity.

Well.. since everyone is convinced it's dieing, Blizzard is probably announcing that they are taking Starcraft offline. A SAD SAD DAY!

Notice "Project Blackstone" just had the 7th entry of the 8 available slots filled.

PAX East is less than 2 days away.

I say something goes terribly wrong on the Vessel these scientists are on... and the result is some kind of 1st person or 3rd person shooter game based in the SC universe.

the way Blizzard is talking about this "new thing" ...
I say the game is playable mainly on mobile devices such as the Samsung Note 2 .. or Samsung Galaxy.

that is my best guess.

Turns out it's a card game but instead of buying real cards you buy digital cards. Blizzard's gone all out microtransactions on us!

Since it's free to play I might try it out but usually I don't like things where the people who buy more cards get to play the fun game and I get to play the poor person shitty free game.

Magic is the original pay to win game and you'd pay hundreds just for one card to make up your deck.

i'm kind of surprised this is a PC/Mac only title. I figured whatever game it was....

it would be usable on Smartphones and the like.
at least they seemed to be hinting in that direction.

The BLizzard "old timers" are big fans of Magic.

They sited Magic's asymmetrical unit composition as one of their reasons they tried to balance STarcraft1 with such diverse play mechanics... rather than making it like Chess.
