http://blogs.companyofheroes.com/2014/06/27/introducing-company-of-heroes-2-war-spoils/

New armies aren’t the only new thing in Company of Heroes 2: The Western Front Armies!

We’re proud to introduce the all new War Spoils system.

Why War Spoils?

War Spoils replaces our previous progression system.

The primary benefit of switching to War Spoils is that we can add more content to the system over time in a seamless way. With the previous system any new content would be automatically granted to higher level players while causing lower levels players to have to grind for an unacceptably long period. Our plan is to continually add new content into the War Spoils system allowing all players a fair chance at being able to access it.

The exciting thing is that all players now have a chance of getting some of the best items in the game every time they get War Spoils.

How Often Do War Spoils Drop?

War Spoils drops occur frequently and the rate is solely based on time spent in battle. Win/lose, units killed/produced/lost, game size, etc. does not matter. We may change this in the future, but we’ll let you know when we do.

If you want more War Spoils drops then you need to play more.

Once War Spoils are granted a player’s timer resets.

To make sure your playtime counts towards your next War Spoils drop ensure:

That you complete the game – it doesn’t matter if you win or lose, but completing the game makes sure our system logs your playtime.
That you’re connected to our servers! Being connected lets us track your playing time.
Playing multiplayer or against the AI. Campaign matches aren’t counted, nor does time spent in menus.
Playing at least five minute games.

What Items Are Won Through War Spoils?

Everything including premium commanders, intel bulletins, skins, faceplates, and victory strikes. Most of the items in the game can be accessed via War Spoils. Let us know what sort of items would you like to receive in a War Spoils drop.

War Spoils is a system that we intend to invest more in and continually update and evolve to add more value to our players.

Thank you for playing and we’ll see you on the front lines!

I assume surrendering counts as well? Just not exiting the game before it ends?

The System is garbage. It took me 6 hours until i get my first warspoil.
A warspoil Drops every 6th hours of gaming? This will take Ages until you have all Bulletins and commanders.

So doing nothing and then surrendering to AI after 5m of playing would count towards drawing one?

Gobbled up my free faceplate :D

Greg you are nuts! Well done. Sky diving is one of the most dangerous of extreme sports. Did they show you a "wall of pain"? Usually skydive organizations have one of these where they show off pictures of all their broken bones.

Just set up a 1V1 vs the AI and alt+tab.

Let the PC farm for you - Alt+Tab back in 20 mins later and repeat.

This x a million. I'm not hard up for a couple buck though, I wouldn't mind paying for some of those new commanders.

Really just afk and farm. Why don;t somebody just create a game for farming 4v4, players log in and Alt-tab doing something else, 6 hours later reap the profit, like the old TF2 farm room. Seriously, 6 hours for a single drop is just pathetic, at least make it like ~30min, roughly as TF2.

Pay Day 2 has a good system - nearly guaranteed something at the end of a game.

I doubt it takes 6 played game hours, but it should take way less time.

1,5 - 2 hours (between 3-4 games) if no duplicates.
1 hour if duplicates. It´s not like theres few bulletins that you will get all commanders and skins ASAP.

So can anyone tell me if you get the commanders from a drop if you have them permanently? Or is there only a window of time that you can use them like in the Alpha. Also, I really don't like that if you forget to open the box after a game you don't get the spoils. I have missed multiple. I mean if your going to give me a present, at least let me open when I want, right!?
