It is still too early to say, but here is your chance to predict who we are going to see more of in the meta and who less of in this patch

My picks:

Soviets:

Biggest Winner:

Defensive Commander

Having been hit with the nerf bat when his callins got pushed back to 2CP, now he has a point again. Being able to build T1 and call in to replace T2 didn't matter much when T3/4 came so fast

I'm not saying he's good now, only that I expect to see him more now post-patch

2nd Biggest Winner:

Urban Defence

Gets the 45s to allow AT with a T1 build and with a longer infantry game the Foward HQ will be more useful

Another commander we never used to see that we may again.

Honourable mention:

Soviet Industry

Higher fuel costs for teching means she may see a come back, but she is not exactly unpopular now

Biggest Loser:

Shock Army

See below for comments on shocks in general, however this guy lacks any call in tanks and the PPSH is no longer a nobrainer

Biggest Overall Loser:

Anything with shocks, given that you are not suppossed to be able to kill anything simply by forming 3 shock squads into a blob and running straight ahead anymore

Biggest overall winner:

Any Guards doctrine, especially Guards Motor, which was not exactly unpopular before

Darkhorse pic:

Anti Infantry

With terrain, flanking and cover more important intel will be crucial

We also predict that call ins will be important, especially the KV8

There is only one Soviet Commander with Recon and a call in, and it's a KV8

Ostheer:

As most of their infantry is non-doctrinal the changes probably matter less to them in Commander choice

However:

Biggest Winner

Mechanised Assault

Not just for the A Grens, but the rest of his units also fit in a no tech build now that teching is more expensive and non-call in armour comes later

The 250 can form the basis of an erstaz FHT too

2nd Biggest Winner

Mechanised Assault

3rd Biggest Winner

Mechanised Assault

4th Biggest Winner

Spearhead

Recon and Tigers are going to be crucial

Biggest Overall losers:

Anything without a call in

I cannot predict if Ferdinands will end up less popular because there is now less Soviet armour, or more popular because we will see them in lieu of T4 panthers and supported by T3 armour.

Fortified Armour

Not unpopular now, but no one else has Recon + 2 Call In tanks.

We may see teching stop at BP2 and players rely on the Command Tanks to clear the abundant infantry then backstop with an Elefant

I think both of the 250 HT commanders have a better place in this meta now that T3 vehicles are delayed a bit.

This also makes irregulars and partisans a little more useful, as the Ost LMG is delayed to T2, and the fragile russian units will have a longer window to fulfill their role as harassing infantry.
