Okay So im looking to build a cheap(as cheap as possible mid/slightly low range)game PC for my kiddo and wife to learn COH2 on and also so they can team up with me. I already have Geforce 650 or 550 ti graphics card( cant remember which) that Ill be using. I would also like them to be able to play on maybe midrange settings decently I dont want them to have to play on lowest that just sucks. So anyway... any and all help and advice much appreciated thnx guys .

About a game rig coh2 seems to have quite crappy optimization. Even decent rigs can have issues running the game. I would call my computer a midrange one, 1year old now. 1000 euro. Can run the game more or less maxed out. Others have decent rigs and can't even run on medium. Can post my specs later.

I think the physics and snow calculations are the biggest resource hogs so just turn them off to retain a nice look.

Here's how I start most threads like this and it applies to my car forums too lol.
It costs money to go fast, how fast do you want to go?

wow, a whole COH family ? incredible! or maybe your wife wants to try and understand why you are on the computer so much ?
I would maybe suggest to give us a budget and then we can help you figure out the best bang for your buck and estimate the performance.

Arma 3 maxed out runs more consistently than CoH2 on low settings (AA off, physics off, snow quality lowest, 1280x720) on my mid range card, so at worst you need like a 6970 or a 660ti or you're just going to be face palming the whole time.

i7-2700k @3.5ghz
8gb ram
Radeon HD9700
Win8 64
Paid roughly $1400 for this (roughly a year ago) a complete computer (mobo, chassi psu etc etc) minus the screen that I already had.
Running at 1920x1080
Img quality high
AA low
Texture higher
Vsync On
Snow detail medium
Physics high
Game runs fine, dunno about FPS but I have never felt any laggyness of any kind.
