A balance thought for Soviet tiers

I actually like the overall thought of mobile t3 and more hard hitting but less mobile t4. Not sure about any units moving from either to the other.

This

plus

fast t70 would be a nightmare

This.

I honestly do not see it being a positive change to balance or gameplay overall. A more interesting matter would be adjusting T1 and T2 cost imo.

How about this:

Exchange SU-76 with the Halftrack.

As someone who always goes T4, I miss the halftrack so much.......It is my least used unit and the suppression/reinforcement would be very useful to compensate for the SU-85's poor AI.

If I go T3, then the SU-76 can help support the T-34/76 in long range pea shooting..

Now we're talking.... much better

I will risk being a pain in the ass and repost myself... This is like 3rd time I speak out about this and it just gets ignored lol. GIVE MY IDEAS ATTENTION NOW PLEASE! :D

I agree. Soviet choosing T3 of T4 is their flavor. I think the real problem here is that they have to choose between T1 or T2 which leaves their army a little too flat.

Right now going t1 to t3 is not a thing, unless its only to put the last nail into your opponents coffin. But I don't think the problem is with t3, the problem is that soviet army would lack staple units like mg and AT gun. To support t3.

In addition I wonder if moving some of the T1 and T2 fuel cost to T3 and T4 would solve the problem. This way soviets would optimally tech T1 > T2 and then choose between T3 and T4.

This would still allow them to skip tiers, although it would get more expensive... to balance it out T70 could get a small reduction in cost to preserve its shock value...

Perhaps the reduction in cost would increase its appeal even mid late game after Germans have stuff to deal with it? Right now it loses its value very rapidly.

Some nice suggestions in this thread, T-70 and SU-76 being swapped would make both T3 and T4- play more interesting. And M5 should be able to build in Both T3 and T4.

As others mentioned before, horrible idea in many ways. I don't bother explaining why, I guess everything's been said.

Good necro, but an interesting read none the less. T70 for SU76 swap would be interesting and could work.

Changing the fuel costs so you can go t1/t2 ---> t3 OR t4 would be good too.

It's no problem to go both t1 and t2 :) people just don't realise that vehicle rushes aren't the only avaible option

Well, it depends.
While opening with T1 and going further for T2 and stall to call-ins is a viable choice, opening with T2 and back teching for T1 is completely pointless, no one will backtech to get a single unit(sniper) out of whole tier.

The change could benefit the fun of the game without disturbing balance. I guess that the T-70 and the SU-76 are two of the least used units in coh2.

I don't find T1 to be worthy enough, or in other words, I don't like the idea of 440mp/40fu sniper.

If only penals stood up to their cost.. I love this unit and its theme/lines, but hate how it performs compared to cheaper, upgraded squads or equally priced squads.
