Crash to desktop and black screen

Hello!

Suddenly when I clicked somewhere on the map to send my riflemen to a position Company of Heroes got minimized in the taskbar. I found this weird, but oke, the game was still running. I reopen the game, but everything is black. Only the taskbar is still visible, I could also still see terretory lines but everything else was black.

I also have the same problem when I'm in the startscreen and I press CTRL + ESC. I reopen the game and whole my startscreen is black, text is still readable.

This is the second time it happend, I dont mind it happens when I press CTRL + ESC, but its annoying when I'm playing a game and this happens..

What could be the problem? Do I have to update my graphics card?

System:
- Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 (chip version)
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @2.60GHz
- 8GB RAM
- 64 bit
- Windows 7 Home Premium

Oke.. I have found the problem. Not hard to fix

If anyone has the same issue, here is the solution:

1. Go to your Steam library and right click on Company of Heroes (New Steam Version).
2. Click properties
3. Press the tab Local Files.
4. Browse Local Files
5. Find the application (.exe) RelicCOH.
6. Right click on it and go to the tab Compatibility.
7. Check the box at Compatibility Mode and set it drop down menu to Windows 7.

Start up Company of Heroes (New Steam Version). This may be with a little delay, I have no idea why, but the problem seems to be fixed.

These are just a few suggestions they might not resolve the root issue, but when i get auto-minimized sometimes it helps to switch to windowed mode from full screen (alt + enter) i find this will reduce the time it takes for it to go from black to actual video(this probably wouldn't work as well in a game as there's a lot more going on) It certainly wouldn't make things worse to upgrade your video card but given CoH2s current optomization that could be just throwing good money after bad =/

Running the game on ULtra settings(dx10), fullscreen could cause this issue.

IDK why is this so, but I do found 2 solutions for me:

1. Turn dx10 off
2. (And for which I went for to keep running game on MAX) Run game in Windowed mode (startup properties: -novsync -windowed -lockmouse, + used AutoHotkey Script for window to appear as a fs)
