you want a performance boost in coh2 ?

i just found this yesterday....i cannot believe i did not find it long ago.....

this apparently helps intel cpus that are multicore AND HT

this also is supposed to REALLY help multicore AMD cpus

this is also supposed to help laptops

steps to take:
1. bench coh2 on current settings, and bench other program you want to test

2. start: all programs: accessories: system tools: resource monitor: cpu (tab): look at the right column of all the cpu cores. are ANY of them "parked" ?

windows is supposed to park and unpark cores to keep power usage down, but as we all know windows does not always work perfectly.

3. download this portable program:

4. run the program: set the minimum to 100%: reboot computer

5. start: all programs: accessories: system tools: resource monitor: cpu (tab): look at the right column of all the cpu cores. are ANY of them "parked" ?

6. now rebench all the programs and see if you got a performance boost.

it does not seem to do anything for non HT cpus....

let me know what YOUR results were....

i just finished testing on my work computer:
i ran 3 tests unparked and 3 tests parked.
the results were thus:
parked (8 / 36 / 23) & (13 / 36 / 21) & (13 / 35 / 21)
unparked (13 / 37 / 22) & (14 / 37 / 23) & (13 / 37 / 21)
as you can see it really improved the MIN fps on 1 of the tests, and only a minor improvement on the max fps for the rest of the tests. the average did not seem to change at all. i am running a 2600 cpu, so i already had a decent cpu.
