Here is a basic concept for a 1v1 map Im starting to make. It is a partisan camp deep in the woods, with a main german supply route running along one side.
The idea is that most of the munitions are set off to the center left, where there is quite a lot of trees.
While only a fuel is located on the right with the road, which itself has 2 VPs on it.
The idea is that both sides will want to control the camp itself for the resources, but you should not ignore the right which has fuel and 2 VPs.
The road features an ambushed German convoy, I have not decided what to put in the center right yet.
I would really appreciate any input before I do too much work to it.
Map concept.

Could be interesting, but I can imagine the Fuel/2VP Area becoming a bit of a gamebreaker. I am a fan of asymmetrical maps, but they require very solid map design to work well.
Maybe if you were to put some sort of unscalable, uncrushable, obstacle (red line) so that you can only get to that fuel from sides (yellow arrows). In any case, you will almost certainly make sure no player can turtle down around that area (blue star).
Keep at it!

I wanted to make it fairly easy to take the near VP on each players right, and then harder to assault the second one.
If one player went hard on the road, they would struggle for munis, and the other player should gain the advantage. The woods would provide a better position to defend the middle muni from the right.
I want to stimulate fighting on both sides at the same time, but different battles in nature.
It might be worth bringing the road in a bit further, but I dont want to make the left side too strong.

"I am a fan of asymmetrical maps"
The map is mirrored over the diagonal *cough* so it's symmetrical
The map design is okay. reminds me a bit of my latest map.

Ah yes, just checked your map, I can see the similarity. Looks really good.
I really hope I can make something that nice, got a lot of learning to do !

Well, yeah, you are right in that it's geometrically symmetrical. I meant more in the way of flow of play. I think it would be interesting to play on, as long as the 2 VP's/1 Fuel aren't too close together.
However, I have little experience with 1v1 so I'm not the best judge.

It needs a bridge and a river. That's the only way.
