I dont know what the default button is for an English keyboard to open up the chatlog/close it, but on Swedish its "ö" , try hitting the equivalent.
Also i believe the chat is built with Scaleform. Try reinstalling and removing regkeys Flash?

I've tried pretty much every key , it just pops up randomly in game

its because thats what shows up in irc which is what every chat in like every game you play is. only if i was running an irc client i could change that shit and turn it off but since relic didn't diable that welp you can't get rid of it. (hell all text messaging is just recycling email system.
