Lyon for Company of Heroes 2 the new six player release!


I have come to love Lyon in vCoH. Many players remember this as a campfest and an axis favored one. In my many dozens of hours on this map have come to the conclusion that it is in fact diverse and full of opportunity for all four vCoH factions.

I always wanted this map to reappear in vCoH's sequel, Company of Heroes 2. Since this has not been done yet, I decided to give it a try.

Oooh the map is fun :D. Was serching for new comp stomp maps for me and my friends.

Non-destroyable bridge in the middle is awesome and so important because AI won't repair bridges.

Just noticed that my P4s could not get over the middle bridge. They got stuck. It may be the strategy point or maybe some rubble. I don't know.

Thank you for this constructive bug report. I missed that one...

i suggest you to add more crossing oppurnity, for infatry for example, if the river is frozen. So we dont have to cross only in the bridge.
And you should put the fuels,ammo to the middle, so we wont shit tanks in every 2 minutes.

Then it could be maybe a competitive map for Relic map contest "tourney" or it will be the map for comp stomp, and will be forgetten very fast.

@akosi: there are many people (like me) who love coop comp stomp. I appreciate these kind of maps very much! And my memory is very good :D

But seriously. I have cut two thirds of the amount of resource points the original had and moved the points much closer to the river. Why not be flexible about the different approaches to this game? ;)

No worries, even though I am carefully rebalancing this map, the original's basic layout will remain untouched.

Please have a look at the original Lyon before discussing this further. B-)

i like comp stomp too, but against human would be better.
Bad to see this map wll probably never be at 2v2 automatch :S

You know what? Your point is valid.

Let me explain this futher: by making a Lyon remap I wanted to recapture the feeling of the original. Let's not forget about it being one of the custom 2v2 favorites. (Similar to Achelous Rivers and Vire River Valley, this one was not in automap and noone cared.) Therefore I will first complete the map as a true remake of Company of Heroes' Lyon.

Once I am done and satisfied with that, however, I will start to change the map to your suggestions and make it more automatch compatible. This is the least important step on my priority list, because I am free to create what I enjoy myself. If there is a certain desire for a modified version of Lionskaya, it will be released. Yet, do not expect it to come out before the current remake reaches its final state.:)

Hope this makes my intentions clearer.

Great map, had funny game on it, thanks, just a minor thing..units come from black area and that doesnt look nice also the edges of the map would look better if there will be some unnaccessable area (as you can see on relic maps) anyway thanks for it and keep working on it, its very nice

- Capture points should be at least 20 or 22 in diameter.

Amazing work mate but like you said in one of your posts, you reduce the amount of resource points and my suggestion is to increment them slightly.
Map looks balanced with enough areas to build base elements and create a proper army. I did't get any vehicle stuck and not see any major problem, only the one targeted by Lund066
Right know Im doing an comp-stomp with the AI and the only (incoming)resource that is really low is manpower.
Anyways I will try it with my brother this weekend 2P vs 2AI and I will let you know our impressions(always constructive feedback)
Excellent work, maybe my favourite map in COH.
