My unit HUD disappeared!?!

So I was playing, I panicked due to the chaos and went to put a unit into ctrl group 0, pressed shift+ctrl+0, my finger either slipped or pressed the above keys and boom...

No unit HUD for me, WTF happened did I press some janky key combination or did the game just freak out?

So it turns out there's an option in the menu to disable this HUD element and I must have hit the shortcut whatever that may be..... That's insanity!

Who on earth wants to play without the units displayed at the top but everything else visible?
