For those who are having trouble launching the game just recently, opt out of the steam beta participation. Apparently, the new steam beta has some issues with directX10/11.

It's under Steam-> settings -> select "none" and steam should prompt a restart.

Worked for me and a few others as well. Hope it fixes it for most of you.

Worked! It is interesting that my default was 'NONE' to begin with, but I went ahead anyway and after a steam restart it worked.

This did not work for me. Still same issue. Never had a single problem even back in beta but now it crashes whenever I try to load my saved game and has to revalidate forever.. bah.
