What you're looking at here is a pumped up version of the Wehr HT strategy from vCoH. The Wehr HT did not have the punch of an OKW Flak HT nor the smoke protection, but it could carry Grens, or Pios with Flamers. Allies got a counter, when the first shocks were overcome.
And then there was Bren-on-Bren until it was nerfed, (countered by Bikes and Pios).
