We lost the Steppes island even after a 3 manned combined effort in the early game. One man got the North as well as the Center VP though, bless him. Would've probably lost without that. Whole units were wiped on the island, and we had lost men at the middle as well. The allies put up bunkers and the like and continued to swarm us with their infantry. No problem, we've fought plenty of hordes on the Ostfront at this point. That's why we were a team. But it didn't feel like it as they overran almost all of our positions on the Steppes. We didn't fight expecting to win - we just didn't want to lose so badly. And we felt that loss creep up on us as we were swarmed by IS2's and Shermans, supported by Jacksons and a dwindling amount of the allies' hoard of elite infantry. But we won, with 5 points remaining. Freaking yanks and rusks...
