This is how everyone plays in the 2v2 ladders in the recent patch... It's the easiest & cheesiest = the most popular strat I guess..
That combo really plays out so well together that if used even remotely properly, you can't counter early game shocks with vehicles because of the guards. And you can't counter the guards with infantry because of the shocks. Then it just starts to snowball out of control from there.

Double sniper to guards, and later to su85 was always a problem in 2v2, people just didnt saw it. Now with both guards and shocks comming earlier its even harder to beat that. 2 sniper will force "insta retreat" on your 2 men gren squad (if u dont plan to lose it), they will also counter your mg42, making u an easy target for shocks.
T2 is also bad, 222 is weak (even shocks can beat it!), maybe a flamer halftrack but then again it gets countered by guard spam. Anyhow its grim time for ostheer, first month it was soviet industry hell, second month its shocks and guards at cp1, sad part is that u have to life 3rd month with that because relic will patch game after SNF Finals.

I think they overnerfed the german light vehicles. A flamer HT is really weak compared to the resource investment, especially munitions-wise.

going for a anty conscript meta start when you know that the current play resolves around callins and snipers was your biggest problem - ass grens with sniper backup seems to work reasonably good vs that type of play backed with some fast shreks and scout car / halftrack for the inc t34

You don't really... You employ any reasonable counter and watch it get swiftly defeated by hard counters that are already on the field. Pray for RNG guided mortars to take the snipers out and hope that puts a hole in their uber-trifecta.
My favorite part is how they chew up your support units and easily gobble them up with their 6-man squads.

Try using the sniper strat against Vindicare X and his buddy using Ostruppen spam.
Then come back and say that Soviets are uncounterable.

Ass-grens get their ass handed to them by the 1CP shock-blob and snipers. They cannot faust the M3s+flamer that would come out to counter them. German snipers are no match for the two-man soviet sniper team, who might even be in M3s.

I do not have the Osttruppen doctrine and I also do not have Assault Grens.
