Jeez it's not that dire. It's a 4-day tourney and this is only for day 1. Next week's hotfix should solve most of the problems listed here. The tourney will still produce many, many great games, and we might actually see something other than Rifle Company for USF!

why the ban of elite troops?

Elite Troops were perceived as P2W apparently. i.e. gaining the vet advantages without working for it. As the long term goal of the forum is to try to achieve e-sports status, which is another subject altogether, it was felt that Elite Troops undermines that ethos.

As there has been a certain amount of disquiet about the exclusions, it may be helpful if I also mention, that the staff thread runs to 6 pages and involves over 40 Staff members contributing to it. The decision was taken on a vote.

This project has involved terrific support from the community and we hope that the interest in it will be widespread. We are most anxious that the game is displayed in its best light

We also know that some people will be disappointed by the decision - that is only natural, since the staff vote itself was not 100% one-sided. To those who are frustrated, i can only apologise. The decision was taken for the greater good and we are as anxious as you are, for the tourney to succeed and to showcase the game. We are conscious that if things went wrong, the blame will lie on our shoulders.

We started the process on the basis of all commanders included and no bulletins. I am afraid that the recent patch problems are what started the discussion, and things spread from there.

Brits should be verboten altogether.
Their only infantry-based suppression platform is eliminated. Sad day for OCF.

I'm sure this was probably discussed and voted against - but I think the tourney should have been postponed until the hotfix.

An intelligent and reasoned post which I support one hundred per cent. Sadly, this is the internet, where intelligence and reason are doomed.
