So, I'm not sure as I already have the game and can't check... but can you not just log into steam and download the beta (It's hidden in text just below the CE purchase button).

Log in, play

On launch, you get your Key from GMG. Go into steam, enter the key, then download CoH2 and play.

Well, maybe they will tell their retailers/stores to give COH2 keys on 18th to all those who preordered, I don't know

Operation Barbarossa Company of Heroes 2 Open Beta Extended


We had planned to shut down the Open Beta earlier this week. Savvy fans have already noticed that the Open Beta is still live, and there’s a very good reason for it. It’s been extended!

After a successful E3 where Company of Heroes 2 broke Relic’s studio record of most lifetime E3 award nominations and because the Open Beta has been so incredibly successful, both in terms of the number of players who have tried out the game and in terms of the invaluable feedback we’ve collected from fans, we decided to keep the Open Beta open until 11:59 pm PDT on Sunday June 23rd.

In fact we’re so excited to keep sharing this game with you that we’re going to be adding additional multiplayer maps into the game, as well as fully unlocking the in-game progression so you can level up as high as you can! To help your leveling up we have Operation Barbarossa, Company of Heroes 2’s first Double XP weekend. For June 22nd and 23rd everyone who plays automatch games in the Open Beta will receive twice the experience points.

Players who purchase the full game and play it within 60 days on the same steam account as the beta will retain all progression earned during the Open Beta.
