That's interesting to see that the reason they were turret less was simply cost. Is there any other benefit other than money to not have a turret mount?

Yeah you see the low silouhette. The missing turret made it easier to cover the vehicle and to make it less visible for the enemy :)

Extremely interesting read. I think I've seen some of the stugs in a Finnish Armour museum but that's several years ago.

Yeah there are almost plenty of finnish StuG that survived the war and are now exhibited :)

nice one, now I know gun length is in the name of the gun; as a multiple of the diameter ( in this case 7.5cm)

Not entirely related but this diagram helped me to understand some armour jargon. For casemate design of a stug, I think its "Front casemate" instead of "Turret Face" for vehicle with turret.

Yeah you see the low silouhette. The missing turret made it easier to cover the vehicle and to make it less visible for the enemy :)

And weight, turret less -> more armor protection and still get relatively fast speed :thumb:.
