The T34 went down with the air strafe. However, that's two games that I have watched between you and I. Dane (Partisans). I'm amazed that Dane doesn't use any mortar or MG support. Especially mortars versus the blobbing and the MG. Conscripts just don't cut it once German Tier 2 kicks in. |
This game was a nail-biter and I have to give Obscura credit for hanging in when things looked hopeless. Things that really stood out: Obscura (1) use of Panzerwerfer 42 (2) use of Luftwaffe Recon Overflights (3) Schrecked Panzergren raids; Ir0nroman (1) Il-2 strafes (2) devastating Katyushas (3) up-graded/ up-vetted PPSH Conscripts are nasty little buggers
Both players showed a high level of expertise and it was an entertaining watch! Well worth beer and pretzels! |
The MG wars were interesting but couldn't figure why fanity floated over 1000 MPs for last half of game (even at or close to Pop Cap, mines, resource caches, bunkers and wire cost no Pop Pts). Base protection with mines is an obvious precaution. Did you hold back on Elephants to save Base during T34/85 Rush just for fun of watching a Panther at work? Anyway, it was an entertaining watch. |
It's not, and if I remember correctly even less than 10% of our visitors use IE.
The thing is that we only have so many coders who already do what they can to build this site. There is still a lot of work to do and I don't think they can afford to dedicate more time to optimize the site for a really small portion of the community.
Thanks for the link Twister, I stand corrected. I had not realized that IE has fallen from No. 1 in 2008 to No.3 today, after Chrome and Firefox. It would be nice if our site was user friendly for all those who visit. |
Alright, this leads to a followup question: why?
Which leads to why not? I realize that IE has its shortcomings. But those of us who have reasons to view Chrome and Mozilla with less than enthusiasm, may use IE. This is my real point: I can go to GR.org and DL replays easily without undue complication and have done so for eons. Why would COH2.org place ANY impediments out there, if the goal of the site is to attract as many fans as possible? You DO realize that IE is the most popular browser out there, don't you? |
IE 10. Latest. |
I love watching Replays. I find that when I watch them, I am always learning how the Great Players come out on top. However, when I LEFT click on the DL button, all I get is a Screen of HTML gibberish. I presently have to RIGHT click the DL button, pick "save target as", then pick "all files" over "html", edit file by removing a "." and add ".rec" to file name and finally pick "save as" to save to the appropriate playback file for COH2. This, I had to figure out for myself. It's a laborious task to say the least and not friendly for non-geeks. What am I missing here? If this is the true state of DL's here at COH2, then it will cause the loss of a lot of interest in the site. |
Good game to watch! You can see how the game will evolve as we learn the dynamics of the game. You can understand Paradox concentrating on fuel points rather than MP. (because he was going armor, an easy mental trap to get into) But as an observer, you keep saying "Use the MP!! More pios! More caches!! More grenadiers!" Use the MP! |
...they would simply OP points near their base and every single multiplayer game would become a campfest...
I agree with Ami here. By putting the Fuel sectors "out there", it forces you into making choices about objective priority that otherwise wouldn't be as critical. It drives the pace of the game faster. |
Fun watch! And this is only Beta. Duffy has hinted at multitudes of tweaks, implementations plus yet unseen units on launch day. Enough to make you drool. |
