I have not tried this 1v1 but you can try it as a change of pace
I make no claims as to how effective it is, but it is fun
Panzers? Panzers! The Fatherland does not need no stinking Panzers!
This is the Ostheer equivalent to:

Take Close Air Support:
Only build Grens, PGrens and Halftrack (Scout Car if you have to)
Only tech to BP2 (for the FHT if you get hit by massed infantry) but don't bother building any tanks
Convert all other fuel to munitions
Build only fuel caches
I usally build 4 gren squads then switch to PGrens.
Gren

You will easily have enough munitions to shrek up all your PGs, hold them back to counter armour
Your grens are your mobile units you use offensively, I generally don't worry about LMGs because I have to keep them moving and just rifle grenade everything in sight.
If you really want support weapons steal his
FHT later becomes handy to reinforce and counter infantry counter attacks
If Grens die off replace them with PGs but don't shrek them up
As the mid to late game arrives you will have converted enough fuel to munitions that you can recon, strafe and bomb pretty much at will.

Yeah, they are both really good at affecting a battle on the other side of the map where you don't have any troops; and anything with recon is always good for a team.
Lutfwaffe seems to have two main uses if you want to try and leverage drops:
1) Build Pioneers and fuel caches then do fuel drops ASAP and rush panzers
You can do that in a team game if your teamates pick up the slack.
In 1v1 you will probably find you have no map prescence if you try that.
More moderate version might work
2)If you are at pop cap you can convert MP into MUNI, but if you can do that you are probably winning anyway.
Otherwise, anything with recon and air attacks is always handy

I thnik Lutwaffe is not good idea for 1v1, if ur oppenent get shock troops, u cant chance againts them, no medical kits save u. And u cant stand againts rush. But if u re lucky enough, u can make deffansive possitions and hold the capture points, medical kits always save u, and u can always drop fuel for late game, then pumping panthers. As i said, u can play deffansive with Lutwaffe. But unfortunately u can hold one lane with Lutwaffe, make lots of inf, gather ur fuel and Muni then pump panthers and attack with air..

Just don't be like the poor SOB I went against that dropped his supplies too close to the frontlines. With just a little push he was forced to fall back before they had touched the ground and my conscripts loved healing and rearming from them...
