The 8 invites for the First Quali Tourney on Nov. 18th

We are proud to announce the 8 invites for the First Quali Tourney for Sunday Night Fights Season 4. These players will be joined by 24 players from the open registration that will go live on Binary Beast on November 11th, at 8pm GMT. The First Quali Tourney will take place on November 18th, with Round 1 being played at 3:00pm GMT. The four players that make it to Round 4 will have their games broadcasted later that night, at 8pm GMT, on the Season Premiere of Sunday Night Fights. To accept your invite, get in touch with AmiPolizeiFunk via Xfire, Facebook, or email.

  • Fireball (Aljaz)
  • DevM
  • SiberianPlatoon
  • Symbiosis
  • Aimstrong
  • Freestyler
  • Sepha
  • Lollypop

As in previous Sunday Night Fights, selection criteria is based primarily on past SNF and Tournament performances. Stream and ladder activity is also a factor. The first four choices came easily:

1. Aljaz

Also known as “Fireball”, Aljaz is the reigning Sunday Night Fights Heavyweight Champion from Season 3. He bested the Round Robin field of Barton, Guderian, and Marinez, to qualify. He then went on to hand a 3-0 loss to DevM in the Season Finale Title Fight.

2. DevM

DevM won the last GameReplays 1v1 Tournament XXV, and tied with SiberianPlatoon as the top earner in SNF Season 3. He crushed Lollypop 3-0 in his Contender Bout, and then went on to shock the world by knocking SiberianPlatoon off his throne, 3-0. DevM defended his Heavyweight belt against Freestyler, 3-1.

3. SiberianPlatoon

SiberianPlatoon won the opening episode of SNF Season 3, defeating Aimstrong in a 5-game thriller. He went on to win his first two Title Fights, beating Seb in another epic 5-game clash, and then sending home his clan mate, KoreanArmy, 3-1. Siberian also has GameReplays 1v1 Tournaments XXIII & XVIII to call his own.

4. Symbiosis

Symbiosis is coming off a hot streak of victories in WMD Tournaments. He also has two 2v2 Tournament victories under hist belt; XXVI (with Freestyler), and XXII (with Lollypop). Symbi may be the one the rest fear the most.

The next 4 spots were very difficult to resolve. There are players that are currently hot and active, and then there are giants of the game that seem to be able to do anything when they put their minds to it. We just hope that everybody that didn’t get an invite shows up on Novemeber 11th, right at 8pm GMT, to secure their sign-up spot on Binary Beast. Now to the next four:

5. Aimstrong

Aimstrong is a perennial finalist in almost every tournament that he enters. He took SiberianPlatoon to the ace game of SNF S03E01. He was narrowly defeated, but came back a few months later to beat Siberian 2-0 in the Sunday Night Fights Custom Map Tournament in March of 2012, a tournament that featured Argentan Crossroads and Bois du Chatelet, as well as other great community made maps. Before all of this, Aimstrong won GameReplays 1v1 Tournament XIX.

6. Freestyler

Freestyler defeated Sepha in one of the most memorable battles of SNF Season 3. Their Contender Bout had more concurrent viewers than any other episode! After trailing 2-0 to Sepha, and looking like he was about to be swept off, Freestyler engineered a miraculous comeback to take the series 3-2. He also shares the most recent 2v2 XXVI Tournament belt with Symbiosis.

7. Sepha

Does he really need an introduction? Perhaps one of the most celebrated players the game has ever known, Sepha holds two GameReplays 1v1 Tournament belts; XII, where he popularized his Volks Volks Sniper build, and then there’s Tourney I, the first officially recorded Company of Heroes tournament, from November of 2006!

8. Lollypop

An always popular livestreamer, Lollypop seeks to avenge his quick ousting in SNF Season 3. Since KoreanArmy was too busy with school to accept his invitation, Lollypop will have to carry the torch for Korean fans of the game, and see if he can earn his right to fight in another SNF Contender Bout.

It deserves mentioning that Seb, in addition to KoreanArmy, has declined his invitation due to other obligations. We apologize in advance to those that didn’t get an invitation, and we thoroughly expect to see many of you hitting the sign-up button right at 8pm GMT on November 11th, to secure your spot!
